Called Alongside - Ministering in the Spirit of an Armorbearer
When Moses hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up - one on one side, one on the other - so that his hands remained steady till sunset. Ex 17:12 (NIV)
An armorbearer or adjutant is one who helps, assists, and gives strength and support to pastoral leadership (be it to the senior pastor, his or her delegates, or visiting ministry guests).
Armorbearing is not just for those with the title of "armorbearer," but for all those who serve in the church.
It’s been reported that about 75% of pastors go through a period of stress so great that they consider quitting and that the incidents of mental breakdowns are so high that insurance companies charge about 4% extra to cover church staff members when compared to employees in other businesses.
